I prayed that He would change the desires of my heart to match His own.
…This simple realization came forth: Jesus is everything, and that must change my life.
The more I reoriented my life with Christ at the center of it, the more fulfilling it became.
With this realization taking hold in my life, I felt a calling to be a nun and a peace came that turned every hardship into God strengthening and purifying my soul.
Without hesitation, I looked up to the crucifix and muttered, "Okay, let’s do this."
My reluctance to truly embrace the beauty of my faith was no match for the Holy Spirit’s persistence.
The thought of becoming a priest gave me that sense of direction and purpose…
Growing up I always felt the call to the priesthood. As a child I would often invite my family to our basement to my pretend chapel for Mass while I played the role of the priest.
One of the most powerful moments in my faith life came to me while I was serving as an Army officer in Iraq during the first Gulf War.
He wasn’t just a figment of my imagination. He was with me in the chapel, hidden but present both spiritually and physically under the appearance of bread and wine in the tabernacle before me out of love for me.
I desire to help people understand and receive the great gifts God offers, and to walk with them as they journey through life.
