A Letter from Most Reverend Alberto Rojas, Bishop of Chicago

Dear Friend in Christ,

Thank you for meeting with Ms. Maria Martinez.  She and her Labouré classmates represent a new wave of growth in the Church but one that needs our help to come to fruition.  As you hear their stories, please know that this is an issue impacting all vocations but it is especially difficult to our vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

Ms. Maria Martinez has a vocation to consecrated life and is thinking of entering the Missionary Sisters of Charity (Mother Theresa of Calcutta), but there is a little problem that you and I can help her solve: college debt!

Your investments of time, talent, and treasure will touch and transform countless lives as each aspirant enters formation and lives out their vocation.  Could there be any better investment than aiding in the salvation of souls?

When I personally met with Maria I experienced in her heart a genuine hunger to serve the Lord as a religious sister.  I was compelled to help her and her fellow Labouré aspirants to answer God’s call.  Please be generous in your support and know that you are rebuilding the Church as you do.

If you have any questions or comments about Ms. Martinez’s vocation, don’t hesitate to call me.

Peace and Blessings,

Bishop Alberto Rojas
